How to Create a New Position from Scratch

Our clients may prefer Using the Template Library to Create a Position; however, a Position can also be created from scratch by utilizing the steps below.

  1. Navigate to your list of all Active positions
  2. At the top of the page, click the green Add Position button.

  3. Enter your new position's details. If a field is mandatory, it will be indicated with an asterisk (*).
  4. When you finish a section, click the green Next button in the bottom right-hand corner.

  5. As you enter Compensable Factors on the next page, you will select the appropriate radio button for each factor. You can also click the Copy/View Positions button on the right under Actions to view or copy compensable factors from your existing positions. When this section is completed, click the green Next button in the bottom right-hand corner.

  6. As you enter information about the position’s Role on the next page, you can enter your own information, or you may click the Copy/View Positions button under Actions to view or copy the Role information of one of your existing positions. When this section is completed, click the green Next button in the bottom right-hand corner.
  7. As you enter the Major Duties of the position on the next page, you may enter your own information or utilize one of the several options on the right-hand side of the page under Actions for inputting your information. When this section is completed, click the green Next button in the bottom right-hand corner.
  8. In the Skills section on the next page, you'll notice that each text area is pre-populated with the definitions of the Compensable Factors you selected earlier in the process (see Step 5 above). You can elaborate on these requirements further in the provided sections, or you can utilize one of the several options on the right-hand side of the page under Actions for inputting your information. When this section is completed, click the green Next button in the bottom right-hand corner.
  9. In the ADA section on the next page, you'll notice each text area is pre-populated. You can elaborate on these requirements further in the provided sections. If your company has pre-set ADA information from existing positions, you may click the Copy/View Positions button under Actions on the right-hand side of the page to view or copy the information of one of your existing positions.
  10. If you are satisfied with all input information, click the green Submit button in the bottom right-hand corner. (To cancel without saving any input information, you may click x Exit without saving in the bottom left-hand corner and the green I’m sure button confirming that all changes will be lost on the following pop-up window.)
