# Employee Participation in the Review Process

## There are a number of actions an employee can take within their plan throughout the year.

 

- Employees **cannot** access plans while the plan is still a draft and has not been activated or gone through the initial approval process (depending on company settings)
- Once a plan is active, the employee can [write and edit comments](https://knowledge.balancedcomp.com/writing-and-editing-comments?hsLang=en).
- If the employee holds feedback sessions with their supervisor, they will [initial that the sessions](https://knowledge.balancedcomp.com/initialing-that-feedback-sessions-have-occurred?hsLang=en)occur.
- Employees can view and download content from the Attachments section of the plan but **cannot** add or edit those attachments.
- Once the supervisor hits the "Ready to start rating" link at the end of the year, the employee can [write their assessment](https://knowledge.balancedcomp.com/writing-your-employee-assessment?hsLang=en) on the Conclusions tab.
- Last, after the final review is held, if the company wants, the employee can [enter an e-signature](https://knowledge.balancedcomp.com/electronically-signing-a-review?hsLang=en).
- Once the plan is completed, the employee can view it under their Past Plans section.
